International Diploma
La Pietra welcomes students from all over the world to our campus. International students have a variety of options and will work closely with the Academic Dean and the Director of Admissions to determine how course credits earned outside the United States transfer into La Pietra’s curriculum and requirements. Upper School
In grades 9-12, a typical schedule consists of three academic courses requiring final exams and one low-homework-bearing course with no final exam.
Courses in English, Math, Biology, World Cultures, World Language, Visual Art, Intro to Music and/or Intro to Theatre, Upper School PE, Today’s Living, and Women’s and Gender Studies electives are taken.
Middle School
Middle School is a time of transition, a time of exploration, and a time of tremendous growth. As middle schoolers attempt to define who they are, it is important that they are given the support and encouragement they need to find their unique path. At La Pietra, our middle school program is designed to do just that through themed courses about exploration and discovery, peer and adult relationships, fun, balance, and continuity.
Online School for Girls
Students are encouraged to take courses through the Online School for Girls by contacting the Academic Dean and seeking approval for registration. Students may earn no more than one credit per year through online courses and must have these credits pre-approved by the Academic Dean in order for the credits to count on a La Pietra transcript for graduation.

Congratulations to Madison Lee ‘21 for representing La Pietra with the Gold Key Award for the 2018 Hawaii Regional Scholastic Award Competition. The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the nation’s largest, longest-running, most prestigious visual and literary arts program that recognizes student accomplishments. Students who receive the Gold Key Award move on to the national level of judging. Great job Maddie!

La Pietra 9th Grader, Maddie, had a love for jewelry and ended up a contract at Kahala Mall retail shops, Up and Riding and Honolulu Surf Room, as they thought that Maddie’s jewelry would be a perfect fit for that market. Maddie was able to get in contact with the business owners and solidify a deal to sell her jewelry on consignment for the past two years. She most recently added her jewelry on consignment with a boutique in Kailua called Betty X Joe. Read more.
